For deep relaxation.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Thigh injuries<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">A <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">hamstring strain<\/span> <\/strong>or a <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>pulled hamstring<\/strong> <\/span>as it is sometimes called is a tear in one or more of the hamstring muscles. Strictly speaking there are three hamstring muscles (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Semitendinosus,\u00a0Semimembranosus\u00a0<\/strong><span style=\"color: #000000;\">and<\/span> <strong>Biceps femoris<\/strong><\/span>) which are known as the <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">hamstring muscle group<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Many people suffer with tight hamstrings. Most of the time they will not cause a problem but can be more prone to bad tears, may contribute towards injuries such as <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">lower back pain.\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Quadriceps muscle strain<\/strong> <\/span>The quadriceps muscles are the muscles on the front of the thigh. They consist of the <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Vastus lateralis,\u00a0Vastus medialis, Vastus intermedius\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>and the <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Rectus femoris<\/span><\/strong>.\u00a0 A strain is a tear in the muscle. These can range in severity, from a very small tear to a complete rupture.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Myositis Ossification<\/strong> <\/span>If you have a bad <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">muscle strain\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>or <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">contusion<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0 (<span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>dead leg<\/strong>!<\/span>)\u00a0and it is neglected then you could be unlucky enough to get Myositis Ossificans. It is usually as a result of impact which causes damage to the sheath that surrounds a bone (<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">periostium<\/span><\/strong>) as well as to the muscle. Bone will grow within the muscle (<strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">called calcification<\/span><\/strong>) which is painful. The bone\u00a0 will grow 2 to 4 weeks after the injury and be mature bone within 3 to 6 months.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Rectus femoris strain<\/strong> <\/span>The rectus femoris muscle is one of quadriceps muscles. It goes from the hip to the knee and can be used to straighten the knee or lift the knee up. This muscle can rupture or become inflamed at the upper part. The main cause of this is overuse through kicking or explosive movements as in sprint starts.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>Groin strain<\/strong> <\/span>is a tear or rupture to any one of the adductor muscles. There are <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>5 adductor muscles<\/strong>:<\/span> the <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong>pectineus, adductor brevis<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/span>and <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">adductor longus\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>(called <span style=\"color: #000000;\">short adductors which go<\/span> from the pelvis to the thigh bone) and the <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">gracilis<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0and <strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">adductor magnus\u00a0<\/span><\/strong>(<span style=\"color: #000000;\">long adductors <\/span>which go from the pelvis to the knee).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Prevention is key Sports massage\u00a0can play an important\u00a0role in the life of anyone,\u00a0whether they are injured or not.
